Our tasting room is located inside of our production facility and barrel house at 940 Parker Street, Berkeley, CA 94710. With a full view of our barrel house, you can enjoy a sour beer or two while overlooking a sea of barrels. The temperature of the tasting room is set at "barrel aging temperature", so dress warm if it's chilly outside. The entrance is tucked away at the end of a very long parking lot.
You are welcome to park your car in any of the 14 marked parking spots in our parking lot. If the parking lot is full, there is usually ample street parking.
Feel free to ride your bike and lock your bike just inside the entrance of our brewery. Outdoor bike racks are coming soon.
Take BART and exit at the Ashby station. Exit the station through the West Adeline St. exit. If straight ahead is 12 o’clock on a clock face, head to about 2 o’clock and cut diagonally across the parking lot. (On weekends there will be a flea market to cut through). Exit the lot and you will be at the corner of Ashby and Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Cross Ashby. This is where you can pick up the 49 bus ($2.10 exact fare or Clipper Card). This is a nice walk during the day, but we dont recommend walking during the night because the route is poorly lit. If you decide to walk it, turn left and walk down Ashby about 10 blocks to San Pablo Ave. Cross San Pablo and turn right. Walk five blocks to Parker St. Turn left. walk 2 1/2 blocks and The Rare Barrel will be on your left, set far back from the street past the Nolo Press building. These detailed directions are a courtsey of friends over at Beer By Bart.
