Understanding that great food starts with great ingredients, we support many local farms and ranches known for their quality products. Our menu is driven by the seasons with a focus on local and sustainable ingredients. We make as much as we can in-house, including our extensive charcuterie program and sour beer jellies. You’ll find our menu is inspired by the season and whether you are here to share a few bites over beers or have a full meal you’ll be sure to find something that satisfies you.
Originally from the Bay area, Chef Charis Wahl grew up in a family that spent a lot of its time cooking with local produce. She has been honing her craft at some of the finest restaurants in the East Bay for almost 2 decades. A self-described food nerd with a cookbook addiction, her cooking style embraces the bounty of local ingredients Northern California has to offer. She is just as passionate about the ingredients that go into the food she prepares as she is the final dish. During her time away from The Rare Barrel, Chef likes to read cookbooks, drink whiskey, and spend time with her dog and husband.
