This year, we sought inspiration from iconic Bay Area hikes for the 2021 Ambassadors of Sour exclusive beers. The second AOS 2021 beer is inspired by Albany Bulb. The particular hike that we chose is a 1.9-mile loop hike beginning at McLaughlin Eastshore State Park. On this hike, you'll hop from rock to rock as waves crash down next to you, sway on a beach rope swing, and enjoy sweeping views of the bay. Last but certainly not least are the quintessential Albany Bulb art installations made from upcycled materials including driftwood, flags, old bike wheels, hubcaps, and more. Happy hiking!
What about the beer? Just as the hike is a mosaic of different terrains, views, and artwork, Albany Bulb is a mosaic of so many of our favorite fruits. Reminiscent of that feeling on a warm summer day when you get home from the farmer's market -- There's no denying the fact that you'll be dipping into your fruit haul before it gets put away. Albany Bulb boasts aromas of pineapple and peaches as the first sip washes over you with flavors of lightly tart cherries, apricots, with a fleeting grape finish.
